David McIntosh was appointed to the coordinator role in September 2007 after working in the Office of the Vice
President for Diversity as a graduate assistant for two years. David is currently a candidate in the doctoral
program in the College of Education at Texas A&M University. His research interests include race and whiteness
in higher education; barriers to success for traditionally underrepresented people within higher education; and
outcomes based assessment in higher education organization development. Before arriving at Texas A&M, David
worked primarily in residence life with living-learning communities for institutions such as Michigan State University
and the University of Missouri. He also has experience consulting in diversity and outcomes based assessment for
both academic and non-academic units
A native of the suburbs of Chicago, David graduated from Ripon College (WI) in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in
Economics, followed by a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of
Missouri in 2003. David is currently pursuing a PhD in Education Administration with Sociology as his support
field.
