Holocaust Remembrance Day

Today Texas A&M joins the nation in marking Holocaust Remembrance Day. The event is sponsored by the
Texas A&M Campus Ministerial Association. Included in the day's activities is the reading, at Ruder
Fountain, of names of Holocaust victims. An interfaith service will be held at All Faiths chapel.
Student Conference on Latino Affairs
April 4 - 5
MSC Committee for the Awareness of Mexican-American Culture (CAMAC) is hosting the 19th annual Student C
onference on Latino Affairs (SCOLA) Friday and Saturday (April 4- April 5). The purpose of SCOLA
is to create a platform in which students from diverse backgrounds are able to unite and discuss
issues facing the Latino population as well as to promote methods of empowerment. The topics of
discussion will be centered around the theme: "Mapping the Road to Success Through: Networking,
Public Speaking, Leadership and Professionalism." This year's conference keynote speakers are
Senator Gonzalo Barrientos and Marion Luna Brem, recognized as one of the top business women
in the world. The conference will also include professional workshops, speakers on Latinos in
the media, student-base civil rights issues, and community service, as well as an etiquette
lunch. The registration fee is $50 for Texas A&M students and $65 for non-students. For more

Women's Leadership Forum: Annually in March
Women’s Leadership Forum is held annually in March to honor Women’s History Month. The Forum commemorates
Women’s History by providing a rallying point for coordinated efforts to recognize and encourage women’s
equal rights and participation in our community’s political, educational, economic, and social processes.
The Forum provides the University community an opportunity to reflect on the progress made to advance
women’s equality, to evaluate the challenges facing women in present-day society, and to consider future
steps needed to eliminate discrimination against women on campus and around the world.
GoodPhil
March 14 – 16
GoodPhil is an annual competition that incorporates Filipino/Philippine Student Associations (FSA’s) from
12 universities in the state of Texas. Its mission is to unite members of all FSA's in friendly competition
through camaraderie, good sportsmanship, and tradition. This year, the 18th annual GoodPhil games will be
March 14-16, 2008 at the University of Texas in San Antonio. During this 3-day event, each school
competes in dances (cultural, spirit, modern) and sports (football, basketball, volleyball, soccer,
and softball), in order to spread the Filipino Culture and build camaraderie amongst the
participating schools.

International Week
February 25- 27
International Week (I-Week) is hosted by the International Students Association (ISA) to promote
international awareness among the Aggie Community. The events include a Cultural Displays, Variety
Show, Dress Parade, and an International Buffet. PhilSA had a long streak of winning I-Week in
every category and this year, our goal is to regain the title.

Southwestern Black Student Leadership Conference
January 17 - 20
The Southwestern Black Student Leadership Conference is held each January, uniting hundreds of students and
advisors, nationally renowned speakers and a variety of corporations from throughout the entire country.
The conference presents a number of creative workshops that focus on related topics and develop strong
leadership skills. SBSLC is dedicated to addressing and developing solutions to major issues as well
as bringing a spirit of unity among students and leaders of all levels.
