The Residence Life community at Texas A&M University is comprised of a diverse group of students and staff living and working together in a residential environment of residence halls, university apartments, and administrative staff offices. Together, we strive to include all members of our community; believe that differences provide opportunities for growth and mutual understanding; are committed to creating a socially just community of respect, caring and support; and seek opportunities to celebrate the community of individuals regardless of ability, religious affiliation, veteran status, socio-economic status, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, age, gender, race or cultural identity.
Student Counseling Services Diversity Statement - Adopted June 22, 1995
Texas A&M University is a diverse community that includes many groups of people, some of whom have been historically discriminated against on the basis of characteristics such as racial, ethnic, and cultural background, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, physical and mental abilities, religious beliefs, and socioeconomic status. The staff of the Student Counseling Service believes that prejudice and discrimination are detrimental to human development. The staff supports an environment in which everyone is respected, welcomed, and appreciated. The appreciation and valuing of diversity contribute to the development of community in its most ideal sense.
