In the Context of Leadership, You Will Explore
Topics ranging from globalization, gender, class, religion, race and ethnicity.
Whether you are an aspiring, new, or experienced student leader, this unique opportunity provides a chance for you to
reflect upon your own leadership, develop insights and broaden your repertoire of useful approaches to leadership in multicultural
contexts.
Anticipated Outcomes
Participants will demonstrate their ability to listen actively, lead more effectively, and work
with others whose worldview, communication styles, beliefs and values may be different from their own.
Participants will demonstrate an understanding of their cultural identities.
Participants will demonstrate their ability to build meaningful interpersonal relationships
with people from a broad variety of cultural backgrounds.
Program Format
These high-impact sessions will be filled with presentations and activities provided by some of the nation’s most prominent
and inspiring scholars. Institute faculty will use various teaching techniques: videos, discussion, case studies, presentations,
and role plays. Most sessions will begin with a large-group presentation followed by deeper dialogue in smaller groups.
Time Commitment
By enrolling, you commit to taking part in all four sessions along with 200 other members of the Texas A&M community and will
leave with access to an invaluable network of new friends, professionals, faculty, and fresh ideas about opportunities that lie
before you in the “real world”
