Partnership Agreement Signed Today With Hispanic Institute
Saying that Texas A&M's efforts to boost minority enrollment is expected to result in a significant increase in Hispanics
for the Class of 2009, Texas A&M University President Robert Gates today signed a partnership agreement with a national
Hispanic organization dedicated to helping with that effort. The National Hispanic Institute (NHI) is a leadership program
for young Latinos. In partnership with higher education institutions such as Texas A&M, NHI programs offer cultural identity
for young Latinos, heighten intellectual capabilities for college and beyond and provide a framework for students to
evaluate self- potential and leadership opportunities in Latino community life.
